FUNletter: 7 fun things
Funletter? Yes, because I'm packing it with things I find fun. As an autistic artist, author, and art therapist, what I find fun is drastically different.
1. I continued working on my painting
The bottom layer was painted by my friends. I’m turning into a self-portrait now. I don’t look fully like this, but it is expressing how I feel
2. I pulled all my letters to artists into a book: For the Artist Who Needs Some Encouragement
The cover is my artwork, and I’ve complimented each letter inside with artwork. You can read why I choose to sell it on my website ($7.77) in my essay all about it.
3. I started reading a new book
I volunteer at the local library, sorting donated books for their book sale. The side benefit is I can buy any book I want. I found this book that way. I’m learning a lot that I didn’t know.
4. I created a new, free Substack for all my writing about religious deconstruction
It’s called The Worst Missionary, and so far I’ve published:
5. I continued pasting pictures in my journal and drawing around them
6. I published an essay about my inability to make art for a couple of years due to mix of autism and intense life events
7. I watched a Netflix documentary about the FLDS called Trust Me: The False Prophet
I’d recommend it for anyone interested in cults or religious deconstruction
